Software Product Manager-US Remote
Zentra is a seamless security solution designed to solve the everyday problems of property access for the multifamily market. We believe that managing access for residents, guests, vendors and staff should be easy and efficient, allowing more time for staff to focus on residents and the operations of the property. We are building integrations to leading Property Management, Visitor Management and other Proptech platforms to further enhance operational efficiency and the overall experience. The Zentra Product org is looking for a Product Manager to help us grow our business in the market for Access Control Systems.
The Software Product Manager is the expert, leader and decision-maker for their Software Product line(s). They are responsible for managing their assigned families of products, ensuring profitability and growth for the business as well as the leading the strategy, planning, positioning, and product life cycle management for those products. The Software Product Manager uses their strong leadership and communication ability, analytical skills, and business acumen to maximize the growth, revenue, and performance of the portfolio. This role acts as a cross-functional business leader, to ensure collaboration, agile prioritization, product design, and development across software platforms.
The Software Product Manager has an expert and demonstrated understanding of the KPIs and/or financial metrics of their product line(s) and their business unit. This is a technical role working with developers and QA to deliver software solutions for current and next generation of hardware integration, platform integration, and SaaS. They consistently demonstrate and exemplify strong leadership skills, communication and collaboration ability, analytical skills, and business acumen to maximize the growth, revenue and return on investment of their portfolio. They assist with development of others in the business through mentorship and development through sharing best practices and continuous improvement opportunities.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for independently identifying, evaluating and prioritizing business and product line opportunities to meet business objectives
Manages the product life cycle for assigned product lines including new product introductions & innovation opportunities, sunsetting and other enhancements in line with SBU strategy.
Participates in & influences SBU product prioritization discussions
Maintains broad and comprehensive knowledge of the markets and channels of their product line(s) and Allegion markets as well as consumer/customer needs, industry trends and go-to market strategy; consistently evaluates future market opportunities, threats and internal competencies to adjust product strategy as needed
Proactively & regularly assesses and evaluates market opportunities & threats to the business unit & Allegion and builds SBU strategy recommendations that enable the business to win
Leads development of KPIs and/or business cases in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders that detail sales forecasts, investment and commercialization strategy for a business opportunity within a business unit or across platforms
Synthesizes sales, market and other data to serve as inputs to business cases and developments or adjustments to the portfolio and business unit strategy
Actively manages the performance of their product line(s) through financial metrics & KPIs; evaluates and determines actions to positively influence business performance and drive better results and outcomes
Maintains strong, trusting partnerships with stakeholders and leaders across the business. Consistently and easily inspires, influences and aligns others to toward shared goals. Proactively identifies possible areas of conflict and partners with stakeholder(s) to identify resolutions
Communicates product line updates, strategy, prioritization and related information to stakeholders, other departments and internal or external customers displaying command, presence, and ownership
Provides direction, mentorship, and/or coaching to others within the organization to improve the performance of peers. May have direct management responsibility for other Product Management team members
May lead larger scope or complex product portfolios and/or some of the most complex/scope business challenges and market opportunities to translate and synthesize into crisp product strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans, while managing prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience and time to market
Broadly and diversly represents the business as a matrixed part of the technical team on sprint planning and prioritization
Develops and maintains deep, trusted, and consultative relationships with internal and external stakeholders; clearly understands and expresses feature/enhancement requests, influence prioritization, and manages delivery timelines
Acts as a model and influential leader in coordinating, communicating, and facilitating work across multiple agile teams to maximize velocity and delivery
Influences to deeply incorporate voice of customer (VoC) from key stakeholders into strategy to maximize value of product vision; advocates the customers’ wants and needs, and organize opportunities into practical and digestible features
Develops product roadmap, and collaboratively influences cross-functionally to prioritize feature development
Collaborates with the development team in preparing for and undertaking PI Planning
Leads, advises, and influences others through complex/ambiguous business challenges and market opportunities; translates and synthesizes into crisp product strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans, while managing prioritization and trade-offs between customer experience and time to market
What You Need to Succeed:
7+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or related experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a technical related field; or 11+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree; MBA preferred
Seasoned experience overseeing and translating complex business requirements into software development requirements and/or partnering with software development to lead the delivery of Software Products using Agile methodology.
Proven track record and demonstrated ability to build strong interpersonal relationships and partner with diverse cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, UI/UX Design, Q&A, Product Management, executive leadership, and internal/external stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience developing strategy, gaining alignment, and diving execution through collaboration and trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Highly skilled at indirect leadership and influencing, & engaging others with the ability to navigate a matrix organization
Demonstrated experience developing strategy, gaining alignment, and driving execution through collaboration and trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong business and financial acumen with ability to identify business unit and organizational opportunities & threats and develop action plans
Excellent ability to collaborate, negotiate and work within a team environment across functions and departments through highly effective written, verbal, presentation, and documentation skills
Excels at presenting product line updates, strategy, prioritization and related information to stakeholders, other departments and internal or external customers displaying command, presence, and ownership
Proven ability to translate complex customer and channel needs into thoughtful, well-organized business cases and portfolio roadmaps
Developed capabilities with strategic planning and track record of supporting profitable business growth.
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, integrate, and execute new solutions within a business
Ability to travel up to 20%
