Hardware/Software Test Engineer
W2 Contract to Hire
Onsite, Vista CA
$60-70/hr
The Test Engineer will work with the V&V Manager, R&D Project Managers, other Test Leads and Systems Engineers on testing activity that involves V&V of the embedded software, software applications for the device as well as hardware in the loop testing of the device. They will also implement test cases derived from hardware/software requirements to verify/validate software and systems are aligned with the User, System, Quality and Regulatory requirements. Furthermore, this role will work with design and Test Engineers to improve repeatability, verifiability, testability of the system design. In this position you will work closely and collaboratively with software and hardware engineers to ensure consistent delivery and sustainment of high-quality industry leading product.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Minimum 2-year engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical, or equivalent industry experience, and preference for completed bachelor in related field.
- Demonstrated experience in Systems Software/Hardware Testing including the application of test processes throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Agile development processes and methodologies.
- Application Life Cycle/Test Case management software such as Quality Center or SpiraTeam.
- Test bed management software and deployment utilities such as VMWARE, Acronis, or Ghost
- Use of test automation tools such as Selenium, Test Complete.
- Experience with Oscilloscope, logic analyzer or other similar measurement tools
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Programming languages, especially C++.
- ISTQB foundation certification or equivalent.
- Medical Device/IVD or other regulated environments with exposure to design control regulations.
- White or grey box testing.
- Motion control, camera interface and communication protocols.
