The Studios Quality organization inside the Game Content and Studios group is looking for a Senior Software Engineer Lead to lead a team focused on building solutions for the Studios Quality Technologies (SQ Tech) focused on building new tools and automation systems that build on the 20+ years of experience on the team. As part of the SQ Tech team, you will help build and support the technology that will streamline the quality verification process and enhance the productivity of game testers within Xbox Game Studios and partner Studios across the globe.
As dev lead of the SQ Tech R&D team, you will be leading the team responsible for implementing new solutions and working closely with the SQ Data team include their AI solutions into our current and future offerings.

• Model, coach, care, and foster a growth mindset for a team of 2-4 FTE
• Provide technical guidance to your direct reports and vendor teams
• Mentor other engineers both within and outside of the team
• Carry out interviews to grow the team
• Establish a tools vision that is tester focused and leverages modern development techniques
• Design, review, and implement tools designed to empower game testers to drive high quality in our games
• Collaborate with other members of the organization and team to drive innovation in game testing
• Identify areas that we can improve our technology and processes to better serve our development partners
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++ and C#
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ Years experience as a people manager
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ Years experience as a people manager
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Perforce, Jira
- Experience collaborating directly with users to create robust and reliable tools
- Ability to work with ambiguity and clearly define problem spaces
- Experience or interest in the gaming industry
Software Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
