Job Title: Founding Software Engineer

This role is for our client that is currently in Seed Stage and looking to grow out their engineering team.
As a lead engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining the core infrastructure and systems that power our platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical solutions. This is a unique opportunity to have a significant impact on the direction and success of our company from its early stages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems and APIs that support our product roadmap.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and iterate on features.
- Take ownership of end-to-end feature development, from conception to deployment and monitoring.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and performance optimization.
- Drive architectural decisions and technical strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve our technical stack and development processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in developing backend systems and APIs in a production environment.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and familiarity with related frameworks and libraries.
- Solid understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling principles.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Bonus: Experience with microservices architecture, DevOps practices, or security best practices.
