Job Description
The Software Engineer will contribute to our growing Data Team to support the data collection, processing, and analysis needs of all facets of the organization. The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to be a leading member of the team that develops and supports 24M’s data and information infrastructure. We’re looking for someone who has strong analytical skills, has experience working on data teams, and who possesses the drive to continually build and improve all aspects of our system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field with strong programming experience.
- 3+ years of applicable industry work experience.
- Experience with at least two of the following: Python, SQL, PHP, Javascript
Additional Qualifications
- Experience writing Python applications with a focus on ETL
- Experience writing SQL queries and stored procedures
- Experience with database design
- Experience creating and implementing web applications for data access and visualization
- Experience in RESTful API design
- Exposure to Git
- Exposure to VB for Excel a plus
- Experience with Tableau or other BI visualization tools a plus
Responsibilities
- Maintain and implement new endpoints in our growing API for data access and consumption.
- Participate in the integration of our PLM system.
- Profile and understand the numerous data sources available, ranging from manually entered values to automated advanced manufacturing equipment.
- Maintain legacy systems and transition their implementation to the API.
- Interface directly with a wide variety of engineers, scientists and technicians who will be both consumers and contributors to this data repository.
- Work both individually and with a small team of developers.
- Create and maintain a variety of in-house tools to perform automated data collection, organization, analysis and visualization using Tableau, Python, SQL, PHP, and Javascript
