Software Engineer (Mid-Level C++ Development)

Qualis Corporation is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Qualis Software Engineering Directorate (QSED). As a QSED Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative software solutions to address a variety of problem-sets. You will work closely with a team of experienced multi-disciplinary engineers and subject matter experts to deliver exceptional Software Engineering services and solutions.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

• Perform software development in a process mature DevSecOps and Agile environment, primarily using C++
• Conduct independent research and rapid prototyping for various software projects, with a focus on hardware automation, performance optimization, and complex problem solving
• Perform laboratory system and integration testing of software builds, prototypes, and experiments
• Participate in cross-team communication and collaboration for requirements gathering and clarification, testing, validation, and other software consulting
• Perform Linux system administration and cybersecurity support for engineering assets and high-performance computing environments
• Contribute to the continual maturation of QSED infrastructure and processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a minimum GPA of 3.5
• 3 – 5 years of Software Engineering experience
• Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience developing in C++
• Candidate must have experience in Windows and Linux system administration
• Candidate must have the ability to learn new methods, technologies, and concepts
• Candidate must have the ability to work efficiently and effectively independently and in a team/multi-team environment
• Candidate must be willing to pursue certification as a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) when pre-requisites for certification have been met
• Candidate must possess time-management skills
• Candidate must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance
• Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL (or surrounding areas)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with .NET languages or Java

• Active DoD Security Clearance
• Experience developing in a DevSecOps environment
• Experience developing in an Agile environment
• Experience developing in a process mature environment
• Experience with web, mobile, and embedded development
• Experience with cloud concepts and technologies
• Experience with data engineering concepts
