10 Week Paid Internship: May 20th - July 26th, 2024
What You’ll Do:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic college intern to join our Driver Experience Team. The focus of our team is on driver-facing technologies, primarily developing ASP.NET Core Web APIs that integrate with Vendor Mobile Application Solutions and creating Xamarin-based mobile applications for Android tablets used by drivers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to unit test development, bug fixing, and the creation of architectural diagrams and documentation for our applications.
Position Functions:
- Collaborate in the design, development, testing, and deployment of innovative software solutions, aiming to improve service performance, durability, cost, and security within the driver experience domain.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle with a particular emphasis on developing new features and functionalities for our driver-facing software applications.
- Adhere to Software Engineering best practices, ensuring high standards of quality across all team deliverables.
- Engage in writing high-quality software for distributed systems within the driver experience sector.
- Work within an agile development framework, focusing on significant and impactful projects.
What We’re Looking For:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ideal candidate is currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
Experience
- A passionate intern with a keen interest in solving complex problems and a desire to make a significant impact in the field of driver-facing technologies.
- Someone ready to play a crucial role in the development and refinement of systems that directly enhance driver experiences and operational efficiency at U.S. Xpress.
- Experience developing software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Experience with a variety of modern programming languages (Java, Python, Javascript or C#)
- Experience in the job offered or a related occupation must involve: designing and developing large-scale, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using Java, Javascript, Python or C#
Skills & Abilities

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
