Internship Overview: The R&D Software Engineer Intern will work as part of a team and individually to develop a PC application interface that extends the usability of a test automation software package. This utility is used extensively to test and evaluate our oximetry hardware and products. We are looking for an individual who can methodically evaluate the task at hand to find creative solutions using today’s best practices in application development and design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and build a robust, extensible, and easy-to-use interface.
- Space to learn and/or advance your knowledge base of application development.
- Work with Software Engineers to deliver an in-house toolset that will be used for years to come.
Required Education & Experience
- Sophomore level standing or higher in engineering course work leading to a degree in computer science, or related engineering discipline, from a four-year college or university.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge Python and/or C# programming language.
- Familiarity with application design principles and good software coding practices.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working hands on with electronics a plus, especially interfacing between electronic platforms and a computer. Example might be Arduino-based projects.
- Experience working with the C programming language a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for 8 hrs/day.
