Step into the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world!As a Software Engineering leader in Agios, you’ll architect the software systems for an advanced research development kit that will power future AR/VR experiments, allowing both internal and external teams to explore the tradespace of AR/VR interactions. You’ll partner with expert research scientists, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and a team of brilliant software minds to ensure seamless integration across hardware, firmware and software components.Ultimately, you’ll foster scientific explorations and generate viable paths to the consumer products that will connect people in meaningful ways for decades to come. Together, let’s step into the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world. Software Engineer - AR/VR Interactions Architect Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail while advocating for higher product quality and engineering efficiency
- Define interfaces and modules that allow developers and researchers to easily build experiments and gather the data they need to make informed decisions.
- Collaborate in a diverse team environment with hardware, software and firmware engineers to support multi-device constellations exploring novel AR/VR interactions.
- Code using primarily C/C++, Java, and Python
- Conduct design and code reviews
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
- Build platforms, tools, and documentation that enable more efficient and effective research
- Learn constantly, educate others, build with inclusion as a core value, dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies, and embrace the ambiguity of AR/VR problem solving
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years experience architecting complex systems that involve both hardware and software components
- 10+ years C/C++ experience, including modern C++ features and principles
- 8+ years experience designing, creating, and extending software development kits distributed to other developer customers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leading engineering teams
- Driver, firmware, OS or embedded systems development
- Hardware bring-up, hardware prototyping, and interfacing with new hardware SDKs
- Game engines such as Unreal or Unity
- Mobile software experience (OS and App level)
- Developing AR/VR applications
- Camera and sensor technologies
