Software Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software applications, ensuring their functionality and performance. You will work closely with our team to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

We need someone that excited to work with others in applying Software Engineering, and data engineering principles to solve complex problems in food science, biology, protein science and operations.

Must have an idea and want to work within biotech. This new member will be a key contributor to the data science team, and they will support the team by building software tools and infrastructure used in the lab every day to accelerate work. They will contribute to

developing and growing the existing data and machine learning platform by collaborating with data scientists, designers and lab scientists.

You are able to take the lead on architecting, implementing and maintaining tools and software that are essential for the growth of our existing data and machine learning infrastructure. You are able to work closely with the data scientists on the team to build and support data pipelines, and grow our existing cloud infrastructure to support scaling up of the system. You enjoy working in a highly cross-functional environment, and are able to take initiatives to define problems, implement solutions independently, and own the process end-to-end.

Responsibilities

● Collaborate with data scientists and lab scientists across the company to grow the

existing infrastructure to build and integrate software products that work at

medium-scale, and co-design data science solutions for analyzing data.

● Contribute toward maintaining and building scalable data pipelines to support easy

ingestion, storage, processing and retrieval of data.

● Be responsible for maintaining and scaling our existing cloud infrastructure.

● Develop, maintain and improve the existing CI/CD pipeline and be responsible for

ensuring that the existing platform is reliable and performant.

● Continuously raise the standard of engineering practice and excellence by implementing

and driving best practices for coding, design, testing and deployment, with a focus on

performance, scalability, privacy and security.

● Collaborate with data scientists to implement user-friendly interfaces for existing

applications and contribute to growing our data visualization platform.

● Working on all aspects of a system, from frontend to backend data store to logging and

machine learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.53 - $60.00 per hour
