Software Engineer

BreakPoint Labs is looking for a Software Engineer (3 or more years of experience) to join our software development operations team. This will be a REMOTE position. Candidate MUST HAVE DOD Clearance for this position.  We are a team of about a dozen developers and operations folks. We work remotely and communicate via text and video chat. We provide applications and tooling for a DoD Cybersecurity Service Provider, mainly in the form of web applications. Our primary tech stack is Python/Django/PostgreSQL, plus judicious use of JavaScript. All of our projects are small, ranging from two to four developers each. We value people who are able to work autonomously but are also not afraid to ask for help when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with other developers to write, test and support web applications
* Monitor and ensure application reliability while deploying changes
* Integrate and support various external data sources
* Troubleshoot software issues and develop solutions
* Draft and maintain technical documentation
Required:
* 3 years of experience in the development, deployment, operation, and maintenance of applications.
* 1 year of experience writing applications with Python.
* Excellent written and oral communicator.
* Ability to obtain Security+ Continuing Education (CE) [CompTIA] within the first 90 days of employment.
* DoD Secret clearance - REQUIRED
Preferred:
* Experience with JavaScript, Django, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Golang.
* Experience using Docker, Ansible, and Gitlab
* Strong Linux administration and development experience.
* Proficiency writing automated tests
* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Background in cybersecurity concepts, especially defensive cybersecurity operations.
