Software Development Quality Analyst

I. Summary/Objective:

The Quality Analyst will work with the applications development team performing tasks that include attending meetings and documenting project requirements and project scopes, creating mockups for current projects, working closely with the developers testing new features and reporting errors to the respective developer for correction, organizing and communicating new feature releases, organizing UAT, recording test case scenarios, and providing support during software releases (this may require flexible work hours as releases take place either very early in the mornings or very late in the evenings after the stores close). Quality Analyst is also responsible for documenting tasks and bugs in JIRA, assigning the appropriate developer to the task, and notifying the company stakeholders of any updates and estimates associated to a particular task or release.

II. Responsibilities:

• This role will be working alongside the project manager, documenting the progress and setbacks of pending projects, and detailing items of each release

• Flow chart creation and creating mockups that outline new features.

• Maintaining independent tasks between QA sessions

• Create detailed task lists for development and implementation

• Extract information from Business Requirements Documentation to create test plans, test cases, test scripts, test estimates and requirements traceability

• Replicating reported production issues in the development environment

III. Education and Experience:

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields

• 2+ years of experience in similar positions

• Knowledge of scrum framework, flows, and processes is a plus

• Experience with JIRA open source bug tracking software preferred

• Previous experience working with applications testing or software QA is a plus

• Ability to create and read flow charts and mock ups is a must

• Experience reviewing and analyzing Business Requirements Documentation
