Position Summary:

We're looking for a seasoned leader to join our Compute Organization within OCI. We're looking for a dynamic leader who is passionate about driving team culture, excels at people management, relationship management, and managing and developing a strong development team. We’re looking for an experienced and self-motivated person.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a team in the Compute Organization of OCI. You will be responsible for building and growing a team of software engineers. You should have technical depth, architectural know how, be a strong people and process manager. As a Senior Manager, you will lead a team and will be responsible for successfully completing the application roadmap. If you have a passion for innovation in tech, Come and join us! Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS or higher degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems in production settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-performing Software Development teams.

  • Strong proficiency in Java, Python, and Oracle Database technologies.

  • Deep understanding of security protocols and best practices.

  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills, combined with a solid grasp of product development.

  • Experience in operational environments with mission-critical, tier-one services, including on-call responsibilities.

  • Proficient in relational databases, particularly Oracle with hands-on experience.

  • Independently driven, resourceful, and adept at overcoming challenges.

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, etc.

  • Experience in resolving customer issues and handling escalations.

  • Operational on-call support experience in a production, mission-critical environment is essential.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a dedicated Software Development team.

  • Drive the execution and delivery of the application roadmap, ensuring projects are completed with the highest quality and within specified timelines.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

  • Maintain and enhance technical depth in Software Development practices and architectural design.

  • Oversee the entire Software Development lifecycle, ensuring best practices in architecture, design, implementation, and customer support.

  • Engage in hands-on management, including addressing customer issues, managing escalations, and deploying code aligned with change management procedures.

  • Monitor service KPI metrics, alarms, logging, and overall system health.

  • Encourage and lead the team in Agile development methodologies in a fast-paced environment.

Hiring Range: from $112,300 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
