We are looking for a Software Development Analyst to maintain, update, and perform services on the Submarine Maintenance Monitoring Information System (SMMIS) software.

What You Will Do

• Providing Software Development support via various software languages (e.g. PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL) to maintain, update, and perform services on the Submarine Maintenance Monitoring Information System (SMMIS) software. Efforts include: bug fixes, implementation of new features, keeping JIRA up to date with current progress, and support System Engineering Process (SEP) to assist NSWCPD in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software based systems, including assisting with life-cycle management.
• Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
• Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
• Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
• Employee shall utilize software configuration control processes to include Software Requirements Documents (SRD), Validation and Verification checklists (V&V), and testing plans.

What You Must Have

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Must have an active Secret Clearance
• Must have HTML / Java Script experience
• Ability to understand and document current business procedures and identify areas for improvement
• Ability to deliver clear and concise business process documentation.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts
• Basic familiarity with system operations, remote desktops, and file transfers tools
• Strong proficiency in Excel
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
