Position Title: Software Developer - Applications - Journeyman
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Clearance: Top Secret
Job Summary:
This job requires software development expertise to support the full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug, documentation, and maintenance with limited supervision to improve information flow in support of DoD information management technologies. The selected individual should be a self-starter and be successful with only general guidance from the contract manager regarding the priority order of projects.
This position requires current knowledge of Windows operating systems and an understanding of networking and Windows network technologies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math with 2-4 years' experience, Master's degree with no less than 1 year of experience. May consider 6 years with no degree.
Essential Duties:
The candidate will be responsible for:
- Execute software projects in an agile, CD/CI environment to include supporting daily standup meetings to ensure sprints are on track for success and that developers have access to help as needed
- Ensuring compliance to CMMI Level 3 or higher
- Using Azure DevOps Server for granting appropriate access to software projects, maintain user stories, maintain tasks, maintain task backlog, assign tasks for sprints, track sprints and retrospectives for sprints; communicate and monitor code check-in/checkout practices; branch/merge code as needed
- Supporting the full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance
- Interfacing with customers to capture all system requirements
- Interfacing with members of the hardware infrastructure team to ensure sufficient resources are available or will be made available to implement required software solutions
- Interfacing with end users to improve system usability and performance.
- Identifying and mitigating risks
- Tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status
- Developing and executing unit tests
- Building verification test plans
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Developing .Net Core Web-based applications using
- Visual Studio 2022
- .Net Core version 6 or later
- Razor/Blazor web pages
- C#, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML 5, XML, JSON, CSS
- Azure DevOps Git
- Progress/Telerik/Kendo UI Development Tools
- Publishing solutions and updates to various environments
- Coordinating system downtimes with stakeholders
- Using IIS to create/maintain web sites and application pools
- Removing all system configurations for deprecated solutions
- Creating new virtual web application environments as necessary using VMware
- Using SSMS for MS SQL database creation, design, single database backups and maintenance as needed
- Writing MS SQL backend queries, stored procedures, and other database objects as needed
- Directing and conducting reviews of software designs, code reviews and related software products
- Producing design documentation
- Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders in various formats
- Must be DOD 8570 IAT Level II/IAM Level 1 certification within 6 months of hire
- Must be willing and able to travel when required to support the mission
- Must possess a DoD Top Secret clearance. US Citizenship required
