Software Developer 4- Remote

The Software and Applications Engineering (SAE) Division supports Los Alamos National Laboratory's (LANL) enterprise applications and performs software application development support, database development and administration, software quality management, and enterprise application consulting. The Enterprise Business Software Group (SAE-2) provides custom application development, commercial off-the-shelf application implementation, database administration, and adoption/integration with Software as a Service solution. SAE-2 supports business processes for financial, personnel, procurement, and human resources IT systems.

Software Developer Working alongside some of the brightest minds, you will be working on analyzing complex business problems and developing solutions. The selected candidate will work as a Software Developer within a team using agile development methodologies responsible for the ServiceNow HR Service Delivery module and ServiceNow platform and its components for Los Alamos National Laboratory. ServiceNow modules currently implemented at LANL include ITSM and CMDB along with a few integrations.

The selected candidate will be responsible to: Support IT Service management to automate business processes, develop, and implement customizations and integrations. Design, configure, develop, troubleshoot, and implement baseline and custom applications to enhance the platform. Manage the platform to ensure stability and implement architectural changes.

Identify deficiencies and provide solutions. Use languages and third-party controls such as .NET, C# and AJAX. Manage tool configuration to ensure reliable production.

Customize applications to facilitate the use of new applications and customizations. Provide expertise for all technical issues related to development. Provide knowledge transfer to technical staff.

Avoid disruptions by implementing new changes with the least disruption to operations. Understand the bigger picture by using large-scale thinking while still having attention to detail. Collaborate with and work closely with customers, other team members and the ServiceNow tools team to develop solutions and changes.Position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

At this level, post graduate course work may be expected. This is a remote position, with light travel to LANL for onboarding, training, and then as needed. MUST HAVE SERVICENOW EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.

Preferred expertise in: Experience level of knowledge with the ServiceNow platform, custom application development, customization, configuration, implementation, and administration of ServiceNow Modules. Extensive knowledge of JavaScript. Familiarity with UI, SQL, HTML and CSS.

Knowledge of XML and structural programming concepts. Advanced troubleshooting skills and problem-solving ability. Ability to identify opportunities to design and implement process improvements.

Understanding of ITIL processes, framework, workflows, and integration. Ability to work well with others across multiple teams to gather, anticipate, track, and incorporate new requirements while maintaining configuration management and version control. Familiarity with federal government security requirements, and ability to implement and assess effectiveness of security controls.

Experience developing custom integrations to 3rd party software and platforms. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Organizational and time management skills.

Strong understanding of a software development lifecycle and all its phases, including requirements, design, development, and testing. Intermediate knowledge of testing strategies and experience with quality control. Can obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Desired Qualifications: Integrations with Oracle EBS ServiceNow certifications. ITIL v4 framework and processes certification. Advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and principles Experience utilizing tools such as Jira and/or Confluence.
