Software Architect

As a Lead Platform Architect (internal title), you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Customer Platforms team reporting to the Senior Lead Platform Architect, you will support projects including Guest Messaging and Hilton Honors Messaging.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

• Build and maintain the application roadmaps; guide delivery of projects and initiatives.
• Drive technology specialists and vendors in investigation architecture reviews to make technical development & design decisions to ensure efficient outcomes and drive software engineering tasks forward with the team.
• Work with the various internal IT groups to integrate solutions components (e.g., custom architecture, enterprise information), scope cost, timeline, and understand implications on architecture.

How you will collaborate with others:

• Mentor and provide technical leadership on software/platform architecture and design to software development teams by referencing and enforcing standard methodology and practice.
• Lead internal and external partners in strategy/project initiation, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management, and systems integration activities.
• Work with Enterprise Architects and multi-functional teams to assess the architectural impact of business requirements on underlying Hilton Worldwide technology capabilities and platforms, and identify risks with mitigations.

What projects you will take ownership of:

• Enforcing Enterprise architecture standards and strategy for the company including business, application, product, integration, data, and infrastructure architectures.
• Coordinating & performing the software engineering work for various platforms.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

• Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
• Four (4) years of software design, development & implementation experience
• Four (4) years of experience coding in Java
• Four (4) years of project management experience
• Technical proficiency with JavaScript (Node.js preferred)
• Business travel up to 10% as needed

It would be useful if you have:

• Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
• Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field
• Six (6) + years of software/platform design, development, and implementation experience, within cloud applications/technologies
• Six (6) + years of project management experience
• Solid understanding of Atlassian Stack
• Knowledge of hotel-based IT systems and applications
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
