Position: Social Studies Teacher (Long-Term Substitute)
Contract Period: Contract days per current collective bargaining unit agreement, exempt
Reports To: School Principal or his/her designee
Supervises: N/A
Position Goal: The classroom teacher is responsible for the education of each pupil in his/her charge and for working with students, parents, other teachers, and staff toward achieving the goals set forth in the Souhegan High School Mission Statement.
Requirements:
- Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree
- Applicants will be subjected to a criminal background check as required by law. (RSA 189:13-a)
- Licensure/Certification Requirements: State of NH Certification Social Studies - 1500 (or eligible for NH Certification)
Preferred Qualifications:
Awareness of NH Administrative Rules and Regulations
Ability to collaborate with professionals, parents, community
Knowledge of testing instruments and their application to the academic setting
Knowledge of competency-based instructional and assessment practices
Experience examining data from a variety of measures, including local, state, and national assessments, to adjust classroom instruction
Commitment to instructing and assessing work study practices within all content areas to support students in reaching the SAU39 Portrait of a Graduate competencies.
Experience working in an interdisciplinary, team-based environment to support students' academic and social-emotional growth
