Licensing and Certifications:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California Driver's License.
Education and Experience:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in social work, human services, psychology, sociology, business administration, public administration or a closely related field.
AND
Five (5) years of full-time professional experience working in public, or private agency human services program, including two (2) years in a management capacity.
Possession of a Master's degree in public or business administration, SOCIAL SERVICES, human services, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field is preferred.
Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted.
Under policy direction of the Board of Supervisors, plans, organizes, manages, directs, and supervises the activities, programs, and services of the Department of Social Services including public assistance, employment services, Area Agency on Aging, adult protective services, in-home support services, child protective services, Lake County Housing Commission, and the Lake County Public Guardian, Conservator, and Administrator; is responsible for fiscal management, personnel management, program planning, program evaluation, and public and political relations; represents department activities, programs, and services with community organizations and other government agencies; serves as Commissioner for the Lake County First Five Coalition; performs the lead role in the County for shelter and local assistance center coordination in the event of disaster; and performs related duties as assigned.
