Social Service Coordinator
The Incumbent provides direction for the Social Services for the Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Program and leadership in the areas of children and youth with special health care needs (cyshcn) for the residents of West Virginia by coordinating statewide prevention activities and integrating said activities into the larger mission of the State Title V agency, the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health (OMCFH).
incumbent provides administrative direction to ensure quality Social Service implementation. Collaboration is required with the CSHCN Program Manager and CSHCN Director of Nursing and Clinical Plan, develop, and monitor all aspects of Social Services for the CSHCN Program, including state and federal grant awards and their sub recipients. Develop and interpret CSHCN Social Service policies and procedures for the OMCFH and others as appropriate. Represent the CSHCN Program as the lead contact for Social Services with stake holders and all internal/external partners, as appropriate. Ensure the functions of the CSHCN Social Services Unit meet all state and federal mandates. Incumbent collaborates with entities throughout both government and the private sector to further the credibility of the CSHCN Program and the OMCFH. Provide supervision of and oversee activities for all CSHCN Social Service Unit professional, technical, and clerical staff. Interpret relevant statutes, regulations and policies for staff, other managers, and the public (subsequent to the approval of the State Health Officer).
Performs other duties as assigned. This position may require Statewide travel.

Training: Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university.
OR
current West Virginia Social Work License.
Experience: Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a social worker in a public or private health or human services agency.
Special Requirement: Eligible for Temporary Social Worker License
OR
Licensed as a Social Worker, Graduate Social Worker, or Certified Social Worker by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners.
