Social Media Strategist

WHO WE ARE:

Red Wine & Blue is a national community of diverse suburban women working together to defeat extremism, one friend at a time (best explained by this Washington Post profile, ‘Blue’ suburban moms are mobilizing to counter conservatives and this NYT episode of “The Daily,” Why Suburban Women Changed Their Minds). We are seeking a full-time Social Media Strategist to help us develop and implement a comprehensive Social Media strategy and distribute thoughtful, engaging content that reflects our brand across our Social Media platforms.

WHO YOU ARE: You’re a Social Media rock star. You have a creative flair and a knack for capturing tone and voice and driving call to action. You stay ahead of industry trends and demonstrate a unique blend of creativity, inquiry and systems thinking. You have a track record of developing and successfully executing Social Media strategies that drive impact and action.

This role does not directly supervise any team member(s), reports to the Head of Communications & Media and is a full-time position that can be performed from anywhere in one of 12 operating states (GA, IA, IL, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA) and Washington, D.C. Occasional travel is required for in-person meetings and all-staff gatherings.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Develop and implement a Social Media strategy that guides our work and brings creative ideas to life
• Create engaging Social Media content that reflects RWB’s spirited voice
• Plan and manage the Social Media content calendar, including writing, designing, scheduling, and posting Social Media content across multiple platforms, including Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok
• Collaborate with cross-functional state teams in MI, NC, OH, PA, and VA to ensure alignment on Social Media strategy, targeting and amplification
• Engage with members of our digital community by responding to comments and encouraging suburban women to take action with Red Wine & Blue
• Immerse yourself in the world of Social Media, experiencing both its highlights and challenges, in order to provide insightful reports on current trends and effective strategies.Track online discussions of political events (or any current topics of interest to suburban women) and engage within the conversation
• Analyze the performance of our Social Media posts and adapt strategy based on both qualitative and quantitative metrics
• Monitor audience behavior to inform strategy adjustments and identify new opportunities.

WHAT YOU’VE GOT:

• Education & Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience guiding Social Media strategy and leading Social Media for an organization, institution or company. Experience developing Social Media strategy for women-centered or progressive political organizations preferred. Deep familiarity with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, and Tik Tok
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the use of a content calendar.
  • You have highly persuasive writing skills - internally and via Social Media- coupled with excellent verbal communication
  • You possess baseline graphics and video skills
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics/analytics
  • An understanding of the current political environment and familiarity with the rapid response nature of politics

WHAT WE OFFER

The salary range for this position is $60,0000 - 70,000 and commensurate with related experience. We take pay equity seriously and work hard to ensure our team members are paid fairly regardless of their gender, race, or other demographic backgrounds. In addition to a competitive salary, we cover 75% of employee medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums. We are a mom-led, family-friendly organization that also covers a significant portion of dependent premiums and allows for a flexible work schedule. We provide paid vacation and sick time off and a generous holiday schedule including a one-week winter break.
