Job Description

The Social Media Manager is a key driver in the development and execution of our centralized Social Media strategy across social channels aimed to inspire audience engagement, grow followers, generate brand awareness, activate communities, and support with event registration/attendance. With proven experience in scaling social platforms and growing digital communities, this trusted colleague will also help further develop our brand voice for multiple hero brands (and a new parent brand) as well as market segments across a variety of social platforms in collaboration with the internal Brand Managers. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the Brand/Creative/Event Marketing teams to translate branded storytelling and content into commercial outcomes.

You will report Director of Brand & Community, the Social Media Manager will directly oversee the internal social team and external agencies to execute daily Social Media activities including the management/development of seasonal and evergreen social content, comment/DM control, broadcast channel moderating, and reporting. You have a understanding of organic & paid Social Media best practices, influencer marketing campaign development/management, and experience managing vendors to produce batched short-form content (including photo, video, social graphics, etc.)

You are a customer-obsessed, a storyteller at heart, visually & creatively astute, and a self-proclaimed Social Media nerd. Someone who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments, and is highly self-motivated, able to prioritize as needed, and balance feedback from stakeholders with brand management and marketing best practices to deliver effective social content, campaigns, and initiatives. Communication, collaboration, and emotional/behavioral intelligence is fundamental to this position and to success in this role. Experience working for a Social Media agency is a plus.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Drive, enhance and further develop the organic Social Media strategy and content calendars for social platforms/channels including but not limited to Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and TikTok, in partnership with the Director of Brand & Community
  • Acquire deep understanding of our industry, existing customer base, and target customer segments' challenges and needs in partnership with the internal Brand Managers; disseminate knowledge externally to Social Media agencies and contractors tailor social content in support of the customer base challenges and needs and leverage findings to support the development of social plans to acquire, retain, and engage and deliver against them
  • Work with Social Media coordinators and Social Media agency to plan and implement social content calendars while ensuring alignment with all other communication channels, as well as to execute day-to-day community management and social listening, developing systems for monitoring comments, engaging with brand and category mentions and jumping on trending conversations
  • Partner with Director Brand & Community and Brand Marketing teams to develop creative briefs for social content based on insights and trends. Act as lead in the briefing process with contractors and external agency(s)
  • Manage strategy / implementation of real time social coverage & content capture by social teams/agency/video & photo vendors during key events and seasonal brand moments like activations, sponsorship, and community events. (Travel to in-person events required)
  • Own and enhance the process for Social Media reporting to measure impact throughout the marketing funnel, presenting monthly and quarterly to Director of Brand & Community
  • Partner with Event/Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, and Brand Marketing teams to develop tailored social strategies that drive net-new customer acquisition for retail stores and brands / wholesale partners
  • Partner with Digital Marketing Specialist to align on best practice/approach for organic boosting strategies, supporting commercial and audience-development priorities as set by marketing strategy
  • Partner with Brand Managers to establish a process for how to integrate brand ambassadors / key customers into both seasonal / evergreen Social Media content to enhance brand perception
  • Establish & manage influencer marketing campaigns to help increase brand awareness and conversion goals in partnership with the Brand Managers
  • Lead and further enhance the process for integration and delivery of sponsored posts / packages sold by sponsorship and business development teams, in collaboration with Revenue Marketing teams
  • Develop strategies to build our target audience and drive engagement by leveraging existing and developing new brand connections, in partnership with our Brand Managers as well as the Retail and PR teams
  • Manage the Social Media marketing budget; ensure spend is within budget and invoices are paid on time. Work with Social Media coordinators for invoice processing/tracking; support Director of Brand & Community with invoice approvals
  • Monitor Social Media trends and social platform changes; provide on-going updates and reports, present insights to Social Media team as necessary
  • Support Director, Brand & Community on execution of additional/other initiatives and projects as needed
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule and travel into our office located at 605 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10158
Qualifications

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Media marketing, content marketing, or related field
  • 3+ years proven professional experience working for a Social Media agency, or running Social Media for a large business and managing teams directly.
  • Interest in fashion and retail industries, fashion experience and understanding of industry a plus.
  • Passionate about Social Media and an active user of Social Media platforms; very comfortable being in front of the camera and proficient in public speaking
  • Proficient in Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook platform tools and management
  • Experience managing influencers/talent and executing influencer campaigns
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to apply those skills and knowledge across multiple marketing formats
  • Creative, positive, high-energy attitude and a strong sense of urgency and teamwork
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable, able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines and activities simultaneously
  • Strong project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills and are able to function at a high performance level on a tight schedule
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and create reports used to provide insight to key stakeholders
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Experience using Hootsuite or similar social listening tools
  • The ability to manage change, thrive in a fast-paced environment, work though ambiguity, and prioritize projects based on business needs
  • Proven success working in matrixed organizations and influencing internal stakeholders, services and platforms. Comfortable collaborating internally and externally
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to take projects and run with them
  • Well-traveled, culturally sensitive, and able to balance human factors with professional expectations
  • Articulate and responsive in communications, eloquent in the written and spoken word and able to build strong business relationships. Well-developed presentation skills.
  • Problem solving – you balance stakeholder needs while maintaining brand and business objectives. You can identify roadblocks, determine fixes, and work in a team environment to implement the solutions to get to the end goal
  • Out of the box thinking -- You are willing to challenge norms and come up with fresh ideas and approaches on reaching audiences and engaging our customers

 

The range for this position is $75,000- $85,000, based on experience.
