Summary
The VIZ Marketing Department is seeking a highly motivated and organized Social Media Associate to join our team. The Social Media Associate will be responsible for creating, organizing, and managing various types of content for our company. They will work within our Social Media Team to ensure all content is high-quality, engaging, and aligns with our brand and messaging. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for creating exceptional content.
What you'll do:

• Coordinate content calendars, including scheduling and publishing content across multiple platforms
• Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Social Team to establish unified approaches to all content
• Write and edit engaging social copy
• Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure brand consistency across all Social Media channels
• Work with in-house and agency design resources to create and on-brand compelling content that fosters fandom, supports product marketing initiatives around publishing, home video, streaming and CPG.
• Attend in-person and online events and create content for social channels as needed
• Prepares reports and presentations on Social Media programs.
• Continuously develop and contribute to Social Media best practices, and contribute to team brainstorming sessions.
• Stay up-to-date with Social Media trends, best practices, and platform updates

The Ideal Candidate Has:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in content creation or content marketing
• Knowledge of Social Media platforms and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency
• Experience with Social Media management tools such as Hootsuite or Buffer
• Understanding of paid Social Media and advertising strategies is a plus
• A passion for anime and manga

Work Location, Schedule, and Compensation
Location: Open to candidates within California. This position can be fully remote or hybrid if the candidate is local to the San Francisco Bay Area (approx. 2 days onsite per week). Some business travel is expected for this position.
Schedule: This is a Regular Full-Time position with flexibility in working hours outside of our core hours of 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The Social Media Associate may need to work late or on weekends on occasion.
Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 annual base salary, depending on experience, with additional variable compensation.
