POSITION TITLE:  Associate Director of SocialMedia Marketing and Digital Engagement

REPORTS TO:  Senior Director, Digital Engagement

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None

LOCATION: Anywhere ADL has an Office

Grade/Class: Grade F, Exempt, PSA-Eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Associate Director of SocialMedia Marketing and Digital Engagement will serve as the lead liaison for the Communications & Digital team with ADL's programmatic departments and the Brand & Marketing team to ensure visually engaging Social Media content that is cohesive with ADL's brand. This role will focus on developing Social Media content to promote ADL's various external programs, creative storytelling across Social Media platforms, management of special organic and paid social campaigns,  and expanding ADL's social influencer program. This role will be instrumental to the execution of a long-term, data-driven Social Media strategy for ADL that drives brand awareness, increases follower acquisition, and unlocks external partnership opportunities.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Collaborate on ADL's long-term Social Media strategy, focusing on programmatic content creation for all Social Media channels, paid social, regional Social Media support, partnership opportunities, and expansion of ADL's social influencer strategy
  • Partner with departments across ADL to promote and uplift the organization's special programs and events on Social Media, including our flagship annual conference, Never Is Now
  • Lead the development and execution of special organic and paid Social Media campaigns in collaboration with internal stakeholders and ADL's Social Media agency
  • Contribute to the development and execution of ADL's Social Media influencer strategy, with a focus on macro-influencers
  • Develop Social Media toolkits for ADL's regional teams and work across the organization to maintain awareness of Social Media and content strategies.
  • Pull and analyze Social Media reports to share with internal stakeholders and guide the optimization of future efforts
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice and terminology and tailor brand messaging into culturally relevant content to meet the needs of specific audience segments.
  • Help provide strategic insight and ideas for various Social Media challenges and goals
  • Lead additional special Social Media projects as needed

 

Secondary:

  • Daily community management as needed in partnership with the Social Media Strategists: posting and engaging on social platforms using a consistent voice that speaks to each social audience. 
  • Assist Social Media Strategists as needed with Social Listening: actively monitor social channels and escalate trends, brand mentions, and sentiment. Identify real-time opportunities for ADL to join or lead the conversation on social.
  • In collaboration with ADL's Social Media team, pitch in with additional Social Media coverage as needed.

Work Experience:  

  • Able to demonstrate progressive skill development, increasing responsibility and leadership in the areas of digital content creation and storytelling in Social Media, marketing, communications, news media or similar areas of expertise.
  • Editorial content and copywriting
  • Visual and audio content production experience including video, infographic, live, and audio only
  • Strong understanding of Social Media analytics and tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of brand presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok and avid curiosity in emerging platforms
  • Experience creating and implementing large-scale paid Social Media campaigns
  • Proven experience contributing ideas for campaigns with a demonstrable proficiency in creative design.

 Education:  

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

 

Work Environment: 

  • ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically): ADL is adhering to public health guidance regarding COVID-19. ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office. 

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $50,000 to $85,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
