Autism Speaks is seeking a Social Media and Community Engagement Intern to implement social engagement strategy across our various platforms for the winter/spring semester as well as connect with our community. Individual can live anywhere throughout the country and will work remotely. 

This is a 10-12 week program and students must be eligible for academic credit. Our team will provide an exciting opportunity foracreative thinker, enthusiastic about Social Media a hands-on chance to learn how to implement Social Media and digital content strategy with a leading nonprofit. Currently, our interns will work remotely but, will be in constant communication with the Digital team to improve our organization’s SEO and webpage search.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a college student enrolled in a bachelor’s program or master’s program. Candidate MUST be able to receive college credit for internship and a genuine interest in learning about the nonprofit field and Social Media marketing 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role’s responsibilities will include:

-Implement Social Media engagement strategy across all platforms including Facebook, Instagram,  LinkedIn, and TikTok

-Respond to constituents in a timely manner with appropriate information or resources
 

-Monitor, track and report on feedback and online reviews


-Coordinate with Marketing, PR, and Communications teams on ongoing campaigns and response strategies

-Engage our online donors in new ways

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have prior community manager experience on Social Media and a can do attitude. 

Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong organizational skills, follow-up, and attention to detail

• Curious and inquisitive, with a willingness to learn about new technology

 • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a team

• Good communication skills, both oral and written

• Knowledge of the Social Media space

• Proficient in MS office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills
