Who we are:
Washington International School (WIS) is a not-for-profit coeducational independent school (private school) offering 900 students a challenging international curriculum and rich language program from Preschool through Grade 12. In addition to their academic studies in mathematics, science, language, literature, social sciences, and the arts, students learn how to be engaged global citizens. An active sports schedule, community service in Washington, DC and elsewhere, and travel programs for study and for fun take our students out into the world.
About the role:
This is a part-time stipended position that reports to the Athletic Director. This position is not eligible for additional benefits.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the planning of practices and games
Organization and use of equipment
Communication in person and via email to student and parents
Helping with uniform distribution and collection
Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Ability to regularly sit and/or stand for long periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations
Required Experience:
Candidates should have coaching experience at the high school and/or club levels and preferably playing experience at the high school and/or college level.
Other:
High School athletics, including varsity, and junior varsity have 1:45hrs practices four to five days a week and meet traditionally from 4pm-5:45, with some exceptions. Home and away match and game times vary and can include some weekends and holidays. Middle School practices three to four times a week and traditionally go from 3pm-4:30pm on weekdays.
Fall Season dates: 8/16/23 - 11/17/23 (Season end date determined by post season play)
