From the client: We are migrating from AS400, Traditional EDW, SQL servers, and Azure database. The right hire must be familiar with these items, not experts.
This hire will need to be a ‘Snowflake Champion / SME’ for us, so I would want to ensure that they have development exposure, administration exposure, Snowpark, Snowgrid, and Snowpipes.
Snowflake Data Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
• As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions on the Snowflake cloud data platform.
• Your expertise in Snowflake and Azure, will be crucial in building scalable and efficient data pipelines and analytical processes.
• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using Snowflake, IBM iSeries, Azure services, MuleSoft, Dbt, and Airflow.
• Collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Optimize data structures and database performance to ensure high reliability, availability, and scalability.
• Develop and maintain data models and data transformations using to enable efficient and accurate data analysis.
• Automate data workflows and monitoring to ensure data pipelines are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data processing and performance bottlenecks.
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (Or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, specifically working with Snowflake, IBM iSeries, Azure, and Mulesoft.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling and translation, with a focus on performance, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, particularly Snowflake, and expertise in Azure services like Blob Storage, Synapse, and Files.
• Experience with a variety of RDBMS technologies (Oracle, DB2, DB2/400, SQL Server, AzureDB, etc.).
• Familiarity with Mulesoft and its capabilities in data modeling, transformation, and developing data driven API's.
• Experience in designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL workflows using Mulesoft DataWeave or equivalent technologies.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data integration techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex data-related issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
