What to Expect
Tesla Manufacturing Engineering has the important role of designing “The Machine that builds the Machine”. We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Production, Sustaining, and Supply Chain) throughout the entire lifecycle of a product (from initial design through prototype development and into full production) to develop high quality and efficient manufacturing equipment and processes that will produce the power electronics that drive our cars and energy products. The role of the SMT Operator Technician is to support the PCBA team in producing world-class Power Electronics Boards. What You’ll Do
- Program and operate SMT equipment (Printers, Placers, Oven, AOI and AXI)
- Operate several machines with an understanding of how to replenish supplies and components
- General machine cleaning and upkeep per the standard operating procedures
- Perform some troubleshooting and repairs for normal functioning
- Inspecting parts for defects before and after the production process to ensure quality standards are met
- Installing components such as transistors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other semiconductor devices onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) or other electronic components
- Able to know the values of SMD components and different components reel packaging
- Understands how to read the BOM and knows how to read drawings
- Follow all Company Safety and ESD Program requirements
- Responsible to report all accidents, near misses, unsafe acts and unsafe conditions
- Properly handle and dispose all waste, including hazardous wastes that are generated in daily operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Associate's Degree in a technical topic, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with 3+ years practical technical experience, or equivalent in PCBA rework
- Experience in a factory organization
- Knowledgeable about production quality metrics
- Exemplary written communication and technical report writing skills
- Experience with manual machining and other fabrication processes
- Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Mastery of Word and Excel
- Able to problem solve and work with minimal supervision toward a stated goal
- Able to converse technically with engineers

Pay: $24.40 - $65.40 per hour
