Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Small Craft/Boat Marine Surveyor to join our team in the Chula Vista, CA area.
Expeditionary staff with Small Craft/Boat Marine Surveyor knowledge. These individuals will support the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). The Small Craft/Boat Marine Surveyor will conduct inspections, surveys, or examinations of navy vessels to assess, monitor and report on the condition. This position involves coordinating, scheduling, and administering repair work on U.S. Navy ships, including ship inspections, safety monitoring, material control, quality assurance, cost and schedule management, test and certification coordination, technical and contractual recommendations, and reporting.

The projected compensation range for this position is $64,900-$108,200. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, ManTech invests in it's employees beyond just compensation. Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Small Craft/Boat Marine Surveyor to join our team in the Chula Vista, CA area.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supports boat and associated equipment surveys and assists in the development of detailed statements of work to support industrial work for Intermediate and Depot level maintenance requirements.
- Supports the review of contracted work and acts as the technical representative, working with the Type Desk and TPOC, for the subsequent repair/maintenance availability period through redelivery of the boat to the operating unit.
- Skill in the use of automated data processing equipment and various software programs mandated for government use for the preparation of work specifications during planning of small boat repair and modernization availabilities.
- Assists repair availabilities, and coordinates, schedules, and administers assigned repair work to ensure that planning functions are completed in time to permit orderly work list preparation, screening, and specification preparation.
- Review contract specifications, drawings, technical manuals, and design test requirements to determine and evaluate contractor compliance, progress, and work quality.
- Research BoatAlts, LARs.
- Reviews surveys and survey crafts.
- Completes Boat checks.
- Research Government Furnished Material (GFM).
- Reviews and processes Condition Found Reports (CFRs).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma/equivalent vocational degree/general educational diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years' hands-on technical experience in the installation, testing, troubleshooting fault isolation and repair of shipboard systems/equipment, with a minimum of 2 years specialized full-time hands-on technician experience in assembly, overhaul, repair, modification, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of shipboard systems and equipment.
- Perform work with a minimum of supervisory assistance and in compliance with prior engineering determination.
- Available for CONUS and OCONUS travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarization with Navy Maintenance and technical manuals.
- One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
- Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team.
Clearance Requirements:
- A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Might be required to get a CAC badge as well as Base Security Access approval.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.
- Work extensive time in stationary positions.
- Climb and descend ladders.
- Operate standard office equipment.
- Be able to communicate professionally with ManTech employees and ManTech clients.
- Must be able to observe and report findings.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- This requires the ability to climb ladders, and knowledge of proper installation methods.
- Must be able to work aboard a ship and in a shipyard environment.
