Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Marine Surveyor/Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance inspections on recreational yachts, as well as creating detailed reports of findings for clients and internal use. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of yacht construction, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and accommodation layouts, along with familiarity with USCG and ABYS regulations.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance inspections on a fleet of motor and sailing yachts in San Diego Harbor marinas
- Generate detailed reports of inspection findings using digital applications and software
- Collaborate closely with the operations manager to track and monitor projects
- Perform general condition surveys and, if interested and qualified, mechanical surveys
- Work in tight spaces, occasionally climb, lift, and bend as needed
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate fieldwork requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a marine estimator, marine engineer, or Marine Surveyor
- High working knowledge of yacht construction, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and accommodation layouts
- Familiarity with USCG and ABYS regulations and maintenance standards
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must have own transport and be a resident of San Diego
