Job Description
We are seeking a School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Scottsdale, Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with speech and language needs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other school staff.
Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy services for students as directed by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Assist the SLP with assessment, treatment planning, and progress monitoring
- Use evidence-based interventions and techniques to support students' speech and language development
- Collaborate with other school staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers, to support students' academic and social-emotional needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and behavior
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field
- Arizona SLPA licensure
- Previous experience working with students with speech and language needs in an educational setting
- Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques and interventions
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain any necessary clearances
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other school staff
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations
This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate and benefits package. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with hours to be determined by the school's needs.
