To manage the execution of CAPEX projects of new facilities and expansion of existing cement facilities (cement, ready-mix and aggregates), following project management standards.
• Coordinate and execute projects above 15M for operations in any place in the world where the company conducts its business.
• Hire, coordinate, and manage multifunctional / multicultural technical personnel teams during the project execution.
• Hire and manage engineering firms for the engineering execution of projects above 15M USD.
• Hire and manage several contractors for civil works, mechanical erection, and electrical installation on new facilities.
• Apply proactive practices and leadership to ensure construction, erection and installation of new facilities are executed free of safety incidents.
• Apply procedures, technical platforms, equipment, process, and technical staff required to achieve quality and expectations of the client in large project executions for operations worldwide.
• Conduct, manage, and coordinate relations between project's team members, administrative areas staff, and top management.
• Consolidate key project information and report to top management.
• Deliver new facilities for operations, commissioned, and started up according with the protocols of main suppliers and standards to the region/country client.
• Report to top management, country manager, regional presidents, operational / technical VP´s and directors the project performance with EH&S Indicators, progress execution of technical, administrative, procurement and construction
• Total authority with project's team members, and shared authority and Propose engineering firms and contractors to execute the project to E&C Director and GO&T VP.
• Define budget and cash flow of the project, time frame for project execution, technology to be implemented, and organizational technical staff for Project.
• Recommend all strategies under which the project will be executed (turnkey basis, general contractors, Internal integration) type of technology, organization according to the place and under the local and political environmental of the country.
• Ensure the project execution with the approved scope, within the time frame and budget committed with our client.
• To execute globally CAPEX projects, based on technical platforms and policies that assure the appropriate application of resources, and cement technology.
• Coordinate multifunctional (civil, mechanical, electrical, process, etc.) / multicultural (Mexican, US, European, Asia, Africa, and LA) teams with corporate staff, and administrative local functions during project execution.
• Define, design, and install all project strategies required for organizational definitions, engineering execution (which and from where), main contractors (general contractors, specialized by areas, etc.) that balance the best outcome and profitability of the project for the designated location and country/region.
• Evaluation and selection of main equipment from global and local suppliers.
• Assure our long-term competitiveness. Consolidate knowledge through all regions in large project execution.
• Deliver projects on time, in budget and fulfil scope according with the committed with our client.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree. Desirable master's degree (MBA, Construction Management, Mechanical & Electrical specialization, Civil Structures, Industrial Process).
• Proficiency Language: Spanish and English 100%
• 5 to 10 years' experience in small-medium engineering and construction projects execution.
• 2 to 5 years' experience project execution overseas.
• 5 to 10 years' technical background, people management, administrative and financial skills.
• Willing to be relocated, work under large periods in stressed environment, leadership, open to new cultures and places, good public relations, strong objective oriented.
• Domain: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP as a user, Financial Skills.
