Job Description
- Oversee general operation of entire Nutrition Site(s). Visit satellite site(s) on a regular basis. Monitor service, participant satisfaction and food quality at these sites.
- Accept and record daily meal reservations for congregate and home-delivered meals when applicable.
- Set up home delivered routes for drivers when applicable.
- Coordinate daily meal count with Cook, Café or Hospital in a timely manner.
- Ensure menu compliance as approved by the Nutrition Specialist.
- Monitor food quality, temperature, taste and appearance. Evaluate sanitation practices according to Health Department regulations. Make suggestions for methods of food prep, which would enhance taste, and appearance of meals.
- Record participation and donation totals daily and deposit daily donations. Submit report to Director.
- Order site supplies according to program policy. Work with kitchen staff (where applicable) to obtain repair services for equipment. Submit bills for site expenses to the Director.
- Assist with the Cook, Kitchen Assistant, Dishwasher, and/or Janitor duties as needed.
- Enlist adequate community volunteers to ensure enough assistance in the completion of daily duties.
- Complete assessments and eligibility determinations for prospective and established participants. Send appropriate completed forms to Director.
- Conduct outreach efforts to potential program participants.
- Oversee distribution of nutrition education each month.
- Organize, publicize and implement monthly site activities, which provide enjoyment, diversion, education, and relaxation to the participants. Utilize a variety of community resources in planning these events.
- Participate in organization and implementation of fundraising activities for cash match.
- Operate various office equipment to include photocopier, telephone, fax machine, computer, calculator, VCR and TV when applicable.
- Enter data from NAPIS assessments into SAMS database as prescribed by specialized training.
- Promote 60's Plus Dining within the community by presenting a positive and cooperative image to participants, families, businesses and other agencies.
- Network with other agencies to provide comprehensive services to the elderly such as social services, medical clinic, Extension, etc.
- Maintain open communication with the Director.
- Accurately complete reports and submit to the Director.
- Promote positive public relations in all areas of the 60's Plus Dining Program.
- Maintain confidentiality of clients.
- Attend training, meetings and seminars as deemed appropriate and necessary.
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with safe practices and policies.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.
