**ROLE SUMMARY**
This position functions as an active member of the Kalamazoo Leadership Team and provides leadership for the day to day Site Engineering support, which includes API/DP maintenance, site services, utilities/facilities operations, integrated facilities management (IFM), reliability engineering, capital project engineering and automation.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Provides direction for the site's maintenance operation in the areas of manufacturing, utilities, and facilities, ensuring maintenance is operating per Pfizer/industry accepted best practices.
+ Embed and sustain IMEX processes and tiered governance, empowering teams to deliver continuous improvement and operational performance. Support and foster Supportive Leadership among people leaders within the team through active coaching.
+ Collaborates and consults with appropriate Center functional groups (i.e. Global Engineering, Global Technical Services, and Procurement) to ensure alignment with Corporate and/or Divisional requirements regarding corporate guidelines, recommended best practices, and reporting requests.
+ Provides leadership in effective communications, managing change, Engineering performance, engineering talent development, and colleague engagement.
+ Optimizing organization effectiveness such that it meets current and future business and customer needs.
+ Define and manage the strategy for the development of the site infrastructure, Automation and Utilities systems.
+ Development, execution, and management of capital project engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance, IFM and department objectives, and direct expense budgets.
+ Development, execution, and management of the site's Capital Project Portfolio.
+ Provides direction of capital Site Engineering projects for equipment and/or renovations at the site, which includes design, construction, budget and schedule management, commissioning, and completion.
+ Ensures all projects are designed and constructed in accordance with current GMP, safety, environmental, energy conservation, and local, state and/or federal regulations.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Education requirement - Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering degree or the technical equivalent. Preferred M.S. in Engineering or M.B.A. Experience - Minimum of 10 years of related experience in project engineering and/or maintenance and facilities experience in a pharmaceutical, cGMP, or healthcare product manufacturing environment. Preferred drug product manufacturing experience. Minimum of 5 years at the managerial level successfully directing and developing staff level colleagues.
+ Demonstrated leadership, management, supervisory, and technical capabilities, track record for developing strong leaders, demonstrated change management skills, and a commitment to mutual accountability.
+ Strong knowledge of GMPs (US & EU), OSHA, ISO, and other regulatory agency standards and requirements applicable to Engineering within a pharmaceutical production facility.
+ Strong interpersonal, communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) are a must.
+ Understanding of a broad variety of capital project management practices, such as, but not excluded to, conceptual design, project cost assembly, project schedule assembly, value engineering, commissioning and qualification, etc.
+ Understanding of a broad variety of maintenance practices such as, planning and scheduling, reliability based maintenance, spare parts inventory management, etc.
