Site Director of Middle School Program provides a safe, fun and educational environment for all Middle School Academy program participants. Under direction of the Regional/District Director , the Site Director is responsible for all children, activities and record keeping at the assigned site. Also responsible for ensuring the site meets all YMCA, grant contracts, and State licensing standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans weekly program of activities that include implementation of YMCA Curriculum and grant contract requirements
- Plans, coordinates and assists in implementation of academic support, personal enrichment, and social and emotional support
- Directs supervision of all staff in center which includes daily guidance and assistance with staff evaluations
- Provides appropriate discipline and direct management of all children according to written policy
- Assures activities are safe and fun for staff. Actively facilitates activities with children
- Establishes positive rapport with parents, staff, school faculty and school principal
- Effectively maintains all school, grant contracts, and YMCA equipment, supplies and inventories
- Maintains records and data on each child and employee following YMCA and grant requirements
- Collects fees and implements site budget
- Monitors, completes and submits all attendance requirements for site to the Regional Director
- Attends all staff meetings and training sessions, including state mandated courses
- Maintains cleanliness & organization of school site and YMCA facilities
- Effectively handles all emergency incidents that occur in YMCA program, using mature sound judgment
- Maintains YMCA standards for Middle School Academy programs, as well as state licensing and grant contract requirements
- Promotes and markets ALL YMCA programs, encouraging family participation
- Builds relationships with program participants, staff and volunteers
- Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Attends required abuse risk management training.
- Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
- Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follows mandated YMCA abuse reporting requirements.
- Plans and appropriately budgets program activities following contract and budget requirements.
- Maintains budget tracker recording all expenses.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum three year experience in a before or after school setting.
- Requires completion of all mandatory child care trainings MODS
- Requires six early childhood credits from an accredited university or hold a CDA or CDA equivalent and Directors' credential.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- First Aid, CPR & AED required.
- Prefer knowledge of sports and children's programming.
- Strong communication, supervisory and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task, general record keeping skills and must be capable of resolving conflict.
- Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents
