Position Overview
The Large FormatSign Production Specialist plays a crucial role in our in-house production process, responsible for preparing print jobs and finishing Large Format signage for installation. This position requires expertise in handling and processing Large Format print materials.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with project managers and design teams to understand job requirements, deadlines, and specifications.
· Prepare Large Format print jobs for production, including file preparation, color management, and layout adjustments as needed.
· Operate Large Format printers and cutters to produce high-quality prints on various substrates, such as vinyl, banners, and rigid materials.
· Perform weeding and trimming of excess vinyl, ensuring clean and precise cuts for accurate signage production.
· Inspect printed materials for quality control, identifying and addressing any issues with color accuracy, resolution, or print defects.
· Laminate printed pieces for durability and protection against weather and UV exposure, using appropriate laminating equipment and techniques.
· Mount printed pieces onto substrates or backing materials, adhering to proper alignment, and finishing standards.
· Maintain inventory of print materials, vinyl rolls, laminates, and other supplies, reporting usage and reordering as needed to support production demands.
· Assist with packaging and shipping of finished signage, ensuring proper handling and protection during transit.
· Follow safety protocols and best practices to maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment maintenance and waste disposal.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in graphic design, printing technology, or related field preferred.
· Proven experience (2+ years) in Large Format Printing, Sign Production, or related manufacturing work.
· Proficiency in operating Large Format printers, cutters, and finishing equipment, including laminators and mounting tools.
· Strong understanding of color management, file preparation, and printing techniques for Large Format signage.
· Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship and meeting project deadlines.
· Ability to interpret job specifications and work orders accurately, adjusting settings and parameters for optimal print results.
· Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions.
· Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to equipment operation and material handling.
· Familiarity with inventory management systems and reporting processes preferred.
