Internship Program Description

The Sigma Chi internship program is a 12-month,10-hours-per-week immersive experience that is designed to reward and challenge undergraduate and graduate student members of Sigma Chi with valuable opportunities to apply their education in professional settings with Sigma Chi International Fraternity, Sigma Chi Foundation and Sigma Chi Leadership Institute. Interns will work across the fields of marketing and communications, chapter support, accountability, accounting, human resources and operations, and information technology, as well as special events, curriculum, and assessments and research.

As a vital part of the Sigma Chi team, interns will have the opportunity to shadow senior professionals, lead high-impact projects, and be an important contributor to their team, all while elevating their interpersonal and professional skills through personalized mentoring, project management and professional development. Interns will leave the program having gained on-the-job training, networking opportunities, invaluable skills, abilities, and experiences that will better prepare them for their future endeavors.

In addition to the unique mentoring and professional experiences, each intern will have the opportunity to engage in exciting professional development experiences & benefits below:

• Reading & exploring both Discover Your True North by Sigma Chi Bill George and Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett & Dave Evans accompanied by discussions on leadership, professional and personal growth, and questioning one's meaning and purpose in the world.
• Participate in two lively monthly virtual sessions designed to deepen one's understanding of self, others, and Sigma Chi as a whole through discussion, reputable speakers & personnel, and curated developmental activities facilitated by the Sigma Chi Leadership Institute.
• Must be able to attend the Krach Transformational Leadership Workshop (KTLW) at Bowling Green State University between August 1 through August 6, 2023 where they will have a unique behind-the-scenes opportunity to join staff, volunteers, and Grand Officers as they host the only fraternal certificate-based leadership program.
• Upon completion of the internship program each intern will be awarded a $6,000 scholarship. In addition, the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Foundation and Sigma Chi Leadership Institute are committed to collaborating with University personnel to offer course credit for a program with an internship requirement or students seeking an independent study or comparable credit offerings. If you are in need of an internship or are interested in an independent study, please inquire with your academic advisor and organize all necessary paperwork.

Each internship has unique prerequisites and can be based entirely remote, in-person at the International Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, or a hybrid schedule Monday through Friday. Please click on the position links below for a detailed description of that role.
