The Position Proposition:
Proficiency in utilizing various electronic diagnostic equipment and conducting minor and major repairs on electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline, and diesel systems is required. Work will primarily occur in workshop conditions, and overtime may be necessary as determined by the company's demands. The selected individual must demonstrate the ability to collaborate within a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision. Employees at this level engage in semi-skilled mechanical duties related to the upkeep and restoration of a diverse array of fleet equipment, which includes:
- Light-duty vehicles
- Medium-duty vehicles
- Heavy-duty vehicles
- Off-road equipment such as trailers, generators, compressors, and heavy machinery.
- Identifying and diagnosing issues
- Employing appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment for repairs
- Identifying, procuring, and installing accurate replacement parts
- Proper disposal of used parts
- Testing mended equipment to ensure resolution of problems
- Ensuring accurate work order documentation entered into the Fleet Management Information System (FMIS)
- High school diploma or GED
- A two-year technical, vocational or trade school diploma or degree in auto, truck, and/or heavy equipment is desired
- Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications desired.
- Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- A minimum of five years verifiable experience in the automotive/truck maintenance field is required.
- A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is always required.
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
