Position Summary:
The Shop Supervisorfor Rihm Kenworth will provide direct supervision of service technicians and their repairs, as well as assisting the technicians in diagnosis of mechanical difficulties and recommending needed repairs. Additional duties include assisting the Service Advisors in greeting customers, selling service labor, writing repair orders, and estimating the cost of repairs within set guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Service Advisors for daily supervision of service technicians to include scheduling & assigning work as required.
- Works with the Service Manager in managing technicians.
- Schedules shop work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with dealership policy and the technician skill level required. Responsible for efficiency within the shop.
- Checks and reviews work in process and follows up for completion as scheduled, aiming to exceed customer expectations.
- Utilizes Paccar Solutions Service Management (Decisiv) for communications, both internal and external.
- Works with the Service Manager in setting performance measurements for service technicians and participates in quarterly technician reviews.
- Inspects and performs any necessary road tests upon completion of work to ensure quality of repairs performed.
- Keeps the Warranty Manager advised of all warranty in process. Assures that all necessary information pertaining to warranty and policy claims are obtained and recorded on the repair order, and that all warranty parts are properly tagged and returned to the Parts department.
- Informs Service Manager of all customer complaints so that they may be handled before the vehicle leaves the shop. Investigates policy expense and takes appropriate action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Assists in maintaining a clean shop area and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition.
- Promotes safe work habits. Reports safety and security violations to the Service Manager.
- Coordinates with the parts department to ensure all parts needed are available prior to repairs commencing. Participates in training to stay current on warranty and technical issues.
- Occasionally opens and closes repair orders when Service Advisor or Service Manager are not available.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of automotive or truck service department experience
- 1 year of successful supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Automotive or Heavy-Duty Truck, Business, or Management
- Experience working in a truck repair facility
- Truck or automotive industry background with previous supervisory experience
- CDL holder
