Shop Helper, Temp

As a Shop Helper at AEVEX Aerospace, you will work closely with our experienced technicians in a collaborative environment, supporting the maintenance and repair of various aircraft structures. This is an onsite, full-time position working the AWS, M-TH 6:30am to 5:00pm with opportunity for OT based on project needs.

Essential Functions:

• Understand the use of tools, equipment, and safety procedures related to aircraft maintenance
• Shadow experienced technicians to gain hands on experience with basic repairs
• Perform basic maintenance tasks to support aircraft mechanics
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment
• Ensure that all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best practices
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
• Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
• Embodies AEVEX's cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.

Qualifications:

• Ability to learn and use a variety of hand tools and shop equipment for maintenance and or repair of aircraft
• Ability to take directions and follow through on assigned tasks to completion
• Ability to read and understand written text and instructions
• Effective communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and integrity
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 0-2 years related mechanic experience

Physical Demands:

• Occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds
• Frequently required to view objects up close and distant range with hand eye coordination
• Occasionally required to reach overhead and frequently reach at/below shoulder level
• Occasionally experience a high level of noise, adverse weather or temperature conditions
• Frequently required to operate hand tools, equipment, heavy machinery

For the purpose of this summary, occasionally is used to represent up to 1/3 of the time given to the work day, frequently represents 1/3 to 2/3 of the time and constantly represents 2/3 or more of the time.
