SalaryShop Assistant Functions and Duties
-Answer service shop phone and provide excellent customer service
-Meet with customers and understand their concerns
-Keep customer information updated in shop management software
-Tag customer keys and perform “walk-around” of vehicle
-Provide written estimates for repairs and inform customer of risks and potential cost changes
-Generate repair orders with sufficient clarity for technician to efficiently diagnose and/or service vehicle
-Schedule customer repairs and contact customers to reschedule when necessary
-Propose service work based on vehicle condition, cost of repairs, mileage, age, and criticality of service
-Keep customers informed on the status of their vehicle in service and any cost changes
-Promote preventative maintenance and schedule preventative maintenance repairs
-Document condition of vehicles before and after repairs
-Ensure repair orders are accurate and include all work performed and associated costs
-See the customer vehicles through all steps of the repair process
-Verify customer concerns are addressed
-Order and track parts and supplies necessary to complete repairs and support shop activities.
-Keep shop supplies replenished and organized
-Organize parts in kits in preparation of service work
-Return parts when necessary and verify supplier acknowledged receipt of return
-Help maintain a professional, safe, and orderly shop
-Clean and maintain front office
Qualifications Preferred
-Must be familiar with inner workings of an automotive service shop
-Must be familiar with and the procurement of auto parts. Experience as an auto parts specialist is a major plus
-Must be familiar with common automotive repairs.
-Must have strong computer skills
-Must be organized and attentive to detail
-Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing
-Must be able-bodied and capable of lifting up to 50lbs
-Must be authorized to work in the United States
-Must be available a minimum of 40 hours per week
-Must have a valid driver’s license
-Must have own transportation
