All About You

Responsibilities

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will prepare product for shipping using all the appropriate regulations and guidelines that pertain to the material shipping. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist processes and complete steps in preparation and shipment of the requested product. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will contact carriers and schedule daily pickups of outbound shipment, stage and load equipment to ensure timely departure of the equipment. The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will receive materials in accordance with all procedures for identification, documentation, environmental and safety procedures, issue and transfer inventory items to the different division in accordance with procedures for handling material.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stage shipments to ensure daily shipping schedule is met. Schedule, load and transfer documents to carrier preventing any delays
  • Receive inbound shipments in a timely manner to meet requirements of production. Label, tag and store material in their designated areas while monitoring accuracy of material counts
  • Issue material from inventory and non-inventory assigned location monitoring accuracy of counts. Interact with other sections to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Perform job task in accordance with governmental, environmental, and ISO regulations while following Saft’s policies and procedures
  • Perform daily maintenance checks on all equipment assigned to duty section and any duties as requested

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, technical, college training, or experience sufficient to meet the requirement competencies.

Preferred Competencies

  • Background of 5 years in logistics
  • Experience using business systems.
  • Logistics operations, hazardous, environment, packaging, and ISO regulations
  • Ability to safely operate motorized handling equipment.
  • Overall understanding of cost management and good business practices
