Shipping & Receiving Clerk (1st Shift)

A Material Handler is responsible for a variety of Material Handling tasks, including but not limited to picking, staging, and kitting of purchased and manufactured parts to support assembly and shipping operations, forklift operations, shipping and receiving operations, cycle counts of inventory, etc. This position requires a forklift certification as well as handling/sorting of parts into racks, carts or containers throughout the day.

Job Functions:

• Unloading, loading, put away, transporting to packing line and staging areas
• Manage the coordination of Shipping & Receiving schedules for the facility; generation of picking Bill of Materials as needed
• Handling and sorting of parts into pallet racks, staging carts or and containers; forklift operation is a function of position
• Identify missing parts or incomplete orders, shipments or kits and escalate as necessary to ensure ship dates are not missed
• Ensure inventory accuracy by continuously improving the inventory and staging kitting system
• This position will require assisting in various areas as needed based on project demand
• Ability to pass Bastian Powered Industrial Vehicle and operate industrial equipment (fork truck, walkie, pallet jack, etc.)
• Ability to lift, walk, stand, and perform additional maneuvers with objects between 50-75 lbs.
• Ability to operate heavy duty equipment in a safe
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products are highly preferred
• Ability to read engineering prints
• A Material Handler will be able to perform at least MH functions (staging, receiving, shipping)
• Strong mechanical acumen has proven to be successfully in this role

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience with Inventory Management/allocation is a requirement
• An active certification operating a Forklift and other industrial vehicle equipment
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area utilizing the principles of 5S
