Position: Lead
Department: Shipping and Receiving Night 2:30 pm- 11:00 pm (Lead)
Position Summary: Responsible for supervising a team of Shipping clerks, managing shipping schedules, and maintaining accurate records of shipments. Your attention to detail, leadership skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and assign work for employees.
- Train new hires to meet department and company standards.
- Involved with employee's performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
- Coordinate shipping activities, including packing, labeling, and loading/unloading shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Prepare shipping document, including bills of landing and shipping labels.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, tracking numbers, and delivery confirmations.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure product integrity.
- Address and resolve shipping-related issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics and customer service, to meet delivery deadlines and resolve customer inquiries.
- Communicate shipping updates and issues to management.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Required to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects of 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to cover other shifts/overtime as necessary.
- Must be able to bend and squat frequently.
- Must be able to stand for 8 hours or more daily.
Required Knowledge and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and/or training; Or combination of education and experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Ability to read English.
- Ability to read picklist and orders.
- Must have strong math and metrology skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
