The Shipping Lead oversees and coordinates all aspects of the shipping process, ensuring efficient and accurate shipment of goods.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring all orders are accurately prepared for shipment in compliance with customer requirements as stated in their Vendor Compliance Guides
- Assisting the Shipping supervisor in supervising and motivating 15-25 employees
- Routine observation of the sorting lanes to ensure they are staffed properly throughout the shift.
- Lead a staff consisting of drivers, auditors, scanners, and material handlers
- Ensure that auditors are accurately auditing pallets accurately
- Working with shipping clerical staff to ensure all orders are prepped and available to ship at their scheduled time
- Work with the Traffic office needs and coordinate staff to plan and prepare
- Work with other departments leads to help facilitate the timely closing of loads and orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and orderly department using QA and 5S guidelines
- Follow Distribution Center Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitor departmental and office supply needs and report to supervisor
- Assist in investigating chargebacks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSREQUIRED
- Radio Frequency based paperless warehouse experience
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office, PKMS and JD Edwards software packages a plus
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a Distribution Center environment
- Experience within an automated environment a plus
- Shipping experience is a plus
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Outstanding communication skills, Bilingual- Spanish preferred
