Shipping Handler - 1St Shift (7:00A - 4:00P)

As a Shipping Handler-Small Parcels, you will:

• Handle, package, and box small parcels, ensuring quality and efficiency, in accordance with DOT regulations and customer demand.
• Assist with and serve as back-up to Shipping Handler-Freight to prepare for, box, and pack large machines and complete required paperwork.
• Follow checklists for all items shipped.
• Verify accuracy of quantities and complete checklist for each order, reporting any discrepancies to the Shipping Team Lead/Production Team Lead.
• With use of fork truck, assist with loading outgoing shipments according to DOT regulations.
• Assist with building and assembling wooden crates and pallets as needed.
• Perform daily planned maintenance checks on equipment (pallet jack, hoist), reporting findings daily to the Shipping Team Lead.
• Maintain dock and shipping areas, keeping them clean and free of debris.
• Ensure inbound/outbound shipments on loading dock are segregated to ensure transparency of items being shipped and material needing to be distributed.
• Be a team player, openly communicating with all other departments to ensure expedited deliveries/overnight red shipments are being shipped same day.
• Perform additional ad hoc assembly tasks as assigned.

The position will report to the Shipping Team Lead at the start of shift to:

• Define orders that need to be shipped/prepped during hours of operation.
• Learn additional information/instructions related to the work to be performed.

Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm. Additional overtime may be permitted when carrier is running late or during peak operational times (example: end of the month).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS – SHIPPING HANDLER 1

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Minimum of 1 year of Shipping Handler experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work 9-hour shift.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS – SHIPPING HANDLER 2

All basic qualifications required for Shipping Handler 1, and:

• Minimum of 3 years of Shipping Handler experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform tasks outside of department as needed.
• Experience operating a forklift and/or pallet jack.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with UPS/FedEx shipping applications.
• Basic Microsoft applications, including Teams, Word, Excel.
• General understanding of basic safety procedures.
• Experience with ERP tool.
• Experience operating hoists.
