We have an opening for an Shipping Counter Clerk position on Day Shift. Mans counter at Distribution Center. Performs a variety of clerical functions. High school plus specialized training needed. Knowledge of personal computer and standard business software and specialty software needed. Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra. Ability to speak, read and write in English required
Key Functions
o Mans counter at Distribution Center. Greets and assists truck drivers and visitors.
- Uses personal computer to complete many job tasks.
- Answers telephone. Takes messages or handles if possible.
- Tracks and records total number of cases shipped.
- Separates returned invoices and bills of lading.
- Assists Customer Service with customer orders.
- Verifies orders with load sheet.
- Enters information and maintains reports on CHEP pallets.
- Coordinates with Quality Control to clarify Safe Quality Food status (hold or release product) of various items as needed.
- Generates and maintains a variety of computerized reports and spreadsheets related to shipping. Keeps reports up to date on PC.
- Maintains computer and paper files for reports, orders, and other correspondences.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Follows safety rules and company policies.
Other Duties
o Assists Shipping Coordinator and Shipping Supervisor as needed.
- Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
- Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
