Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our fast-paced and growing company. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for managing all aspects of our shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate and timely shipments, and maintaining inventory control. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resourceful, and possess excellent communication skills.
Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package products for shipment, including labeling, documentation, and coordinating with carriers to ensure timely delivery.
- Verify and maintain accurate inventory records, including receiving and documenting incoming shipments, conducting regular inventory audits, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and production, to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Utilize shipping software and tools to generate shipping labels, track shipments, and maintain records of shipments and inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping and receiving area, including packing materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and quality, and report any discrepancies or damages to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with special projects, as assigned, such as process improvements, training new team members, and implementing shipping-related initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with shipping software and tools, such as FedEx, UPS, USPS, or other shipping platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
