This position requires this person to safely and properly operate equipment such as a forklift and electric
pallet jack to move product in and out of the shipping department for safe delivery to our customers,
clients, vendors and ensure that the quality of the products is maintained by processing it in accordance
with the company’s guidelines for this position, as well as USDA rules, regulation, and requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loading and unloading product in an efficient, accurate, and safe manner
Moving product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stack and store the
product in the appropriate area
Maneuvering a forklift and/or pallet jack through limited space areas; verifying counts and
products shipped/received
Picking orders for shipment
Operating specific material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
Checking or counting products for accuracy and/or damage
Operating Radio Frequency (RF) terminals to ensure accurate local inventories
Picking and entering correct data to properly create advance shipment notifications for customers
as required
Will be required to manually pick orders
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one years of related experience
and/or training; one year of forklift experience; one year experience with an RF Scan gun or
equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic knowledge of shipping materials, production processes
Knowledge of how a shipping department functions
Well organized, with the ability to multi-task
Ability to count accurately, do simple math
Ability to work in various temperatures.
Sound judgment, problem solving and common sense thinking skills
Basic understanding of GMPs and HACCP
Ability to work early hours, overtime, weekends and holidays
Bilingual skills-Spanish/English preferred but not required, must be able to read and write.
Computer Skills preferred but may not be required in certain areas.
Physical Demands
Standing: Frequently during assigned shift, in combination with walking. Could
be 8 to 12 hours a day.
Sitting: None
Walking: Frequently during of assigned shift. Walking in and around the
department, to and from department, Indoors and outdoors.
Lift/Carry: Frequently Weights 1-60lbs. Some projects allow for lifting that might
exceed 60lbs when using both arms.
Carrying Required: Frequently – Boxes that may weigh up to 60lbs.
Push/Pull Frequently during assigned shift. Using both arms exerting force to
push, pull, carry and move boxes that weight up to 60lbs.
Bending Frequently during assigned shift. Self-paced activity, minimize
bending with attention to body mechanics.
Kneel/Crouch/Crawl Frequently during assigned shift.
Reaching/Handling Frequently during assigned shift. Reaching for product on shelves,
pallets, forklift forks.
Handling: Various sizes and weights of boxes.
Climbing Occasionally – In and out of trucks,
