Shipping Associate

Summary
The primary role is to assist Worldwide Foam to meet or exceed customer expectations. This position facilitates and executes the daily inbound/outbound freight schedule provided to meet daily production goals.
Essential Functions
- Pick/pull stock items for shipment. Combine with newly produced material to complete orders.
- Examine shipment contents and compare records, such as manifests, pick tickets, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy before shipment.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes

Work environment
- Work inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, rain, noise, equipment, and vibrations.
- PPE is required and will be provided.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis. (Team Lift above 30 lbs.)
- Must be able to stay on feet up to 8 hours a day

Required education and experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Computer literacy (operating systems, spreadsheets, email, data, etc.)
- Forklift experience required (will certify on site)
Preferred education and experience
- 2 years of experience in a similar shipping or receiving position. Manufacturing and Industrial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standard office equipment and procedures as well as good grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
